Sort Description  
Teacher, in collaboration with pupils, creates a digital museum with the use of Ms PowerPoint, converts the presentation in a movie and all together evaluate the program.

   These are group work activities on creative thinking.
 .
   These activities aims at developing all kind of intelligences .

Feedback/Evaluation

Tools and programs:
  MS PowerPoint, Bing pictures search, a slideboom account,  a PC and a projector (or a smartboard if there is any) .
Duration: 3 - 4 hours
   1 hour for the pupils to describe with their teams the project's proccess and to recall in their memory all the activities.   About 1-2 hours for the creation and convertion to movie of the presentation "Mediterranean - The sea of  Empires" with the use of Ms PowerPoint. 1 hour for the evaluation of the whole program.
Targets
For Students to:
  • Learn to use a presentation tool in a creative and unusual way creating digital worlds.
  • To reiterate the whole program's activities.
  • To express their opinion for the whole project and its products.
For teacher to:
  • Connect history with joyfull moments.
  • Connect history with ICT
  • Connect history with interactivity and collaboration.
  • Connect history with Arts.
  • Connect history with real life.
  • Give pupils one more opportunity to develop critical thinking.
Development pathway
Step 1: For the feedback, pupils are asked in team to write down all the complited activities during the project.
Step 2: Teacher using the Ms PowerPoint create the "Mediterranean - The sea of Empires" presentation demonstrating, with the projector's help, how to insert links and flash , insert videos and songs, movements and effects.
Step 3: The presentation has to be uploaded on the slideboom.
Step 4: For project evaluation, pupils watching  the video and the presentation and after that they fill in a rubric about the whole project development.

A questionnaire to measure:

  • Self evaluation : Self commitment, personal effort, personal achievents.

  • Team evaluation: Level of collaboration, initiatives taking, assignment of roles in group.

  • Peer Evaluation: Evaluation of their classmates' work and achiements.

  • The  pupils' engagement  in the project's activities.

  • The level collaboration during the program.

  • The development of initiatives from the pupils.

Mediterranean - The sea of Empires

PowerPoint Presentation

The 5th grade history covers a period of over 15 centuries. From the  Roman period in Greece until the fall of the Konstantinoupolis. During the school year, different approaches on teaching practise and  on  repetition's method  with pupils to work on several activities, have led to unexpectedly succeded results.​
