Sort Description  
   Based on a unit exercise, pupils create  advertisements for their original brand name product or service. The development of the project  demands to create a brand name product, a poster, a radio advertisment and a TV's  advertisment.

   This activity is a group/collaborative activity on creative writing.
 .
   This activity aims at developing linguistic/verbal  and spatial intelligences but developed and many of the other types of intelligence, such as:
 
  • Interpersonal intelligence: good with communication

  • Intrapersonal intelligence: good with analyzing things

  • Musical intelligence: good with rhythm

Activity 6

Tools and programs:
  MS Songsmith, Movie Maker, Audacity, a PC and a projector (or a smartboard if there is any) .
Duration: 9-12 hours
  About 1 hour for the concept development. 1 hour for advertisement's slogan, story and poster. 1 hour for radio advertisements recordings, 1 hour for development and writing   of accompanying songs.1-2 hours for developing and writing the TV advertisements and the relative storyboard. 2-3 hours for advertisements shooting and 2-3 hours for the final editing of the movies, 1 hour to watch the movies and the necessary feedback. 
Targets
For Students to:
  • improve in written expression and creative writing using  their imagination.
  • Become advertisers creating from the scratch their own product and the whole concept to advertise it.
  • Become actors , directors, script writers, songwriters, so as to complete their project
  • learn and use new tools so as to be creative and have fun in the classroom.
  • work collaborativelly so as to complite their project.
For teacher to:
  • Help students develop their personal oral and written expression.
  • Help students explore their artistic skills.
  • Stimulate pupils to create their own songs and movies.
  • Create conditions of voluntary commitment for students in the class activities.
  • Teach students the use of new tools.
  • Give students the opportunity  to develop initiatives.
     
Development pathway
Step 1: Students are asked to create their own brand name product/service.
Step 2: Students are asked to create the slogan for their product/service and based on that to create the poster.
Step 3: Posters are scanned and uploaded on class site. 
Step 4: Students are asked to create the story for the radio advertisement.
Step 5: Presentation of the Audacity program, its features and recording of the advertisements.
Step 6: Students are asked to create a song to support their radio advertisment.
Step 7: Presentation of Songsmith ,demonstration of its features and recording of the songs.
Step 8: All radio advertisements are to uploaded on our site.
Step 9: Combination of advertisements with the relative songs, with the help of Audacity
Step 10: Students are asked to create the story and the storyboard for TV advertisements.
Step 11: Shooting of TV advertisements.
Step 12: Editing of the advertisements with the help of MovieMaker.
Step 13: Uploading of the TV advertisements on our site.
Step 14: Watcing all of the project's products ( Poster, Radio and TV advertisements) and have a brainstorming about the incorporation of the used programs in other subjects activities and  a feedback about the results.

Evaluation
Students
  • Self evaluation : Personal effort, artistic results and self evaluation on their performance , contibution to the whole activity.

  • Team evaluation : Level of collaboration, initiatives taking, assignment of roles in group.

  • Peer evaluation: Evaluation of their classmates projects.
