Sort Description  
  Cooperative games with interactive powerpoint presentations on the recognition of sentence structure. Consolidation of terms Proposal - Noun and Verbal Phrase - Subject - Verb and Subject - Verb / impersonal - Transitional-intransitive verbs.
Presentations are relevant to the theory of the seventh unit of the Greek language book for the 5th grade of the Primary School pp 8-9 and pp 10-11

   This activity is a group/collaborative grammar exercise  activity.
 .
   This activity aims at developing linguistic and verbal intelligence but developed and some of the other types of intelligence, such as:
 
  • Interpersonal intelligence: good with communication

  • Intrapersonal intelligence: good with analyzing things

  • Logical intelligence: good with math and logic

Pupils play with grammar I-II

Activity 4

Tools and programs:
  MS PowerPoint with MS mouse mischief add-on instaled, an account for Skydrive, a usb hub , 4-5 wireless mouses, a PC and a projector (or a smartboard if there is any) .
Duration: 3 - 4 hours

(for each presentation/activity)

  1 hour to prepare the presentation, approximately 1 hour for the relevant exercises in the book and 30 minutes to play with the interactive presentation. (for the right development of the activity are required two teaching hours) . 1 hour for the evaluation activity.
Targets

(for both presentations/activities)

For Students to:
  • understand, as they answer questions from the presentation, the sentence structure, the definitions of:  subject - verb/impersonal verbs - transitive verbs and intransitive verbs.
  • develop the sense of belonging , as the game demands to answer the group representative. 
  • learn to make agreements under the time pressure and to develop their personality as team members.
  •  learn one more ICT tool which can be used for educational aims.
For teacher to:
  • help students to understand the new grammatical phenomena.
  • transform a difficult and thus not popular subject, to a game.
  • Stimulate pupils to create their own interactive presentations
  • create such conditions between the students for volunteering creation of such kind of  interactive presentations.
  • to strengthen the team bonds between students.
Development pathway
Step 1: The teacher prepare the different presentations.
 
   subsequently, depending on the learning level of the class, to students' familiarity  with computers, and taking into consideration the technical school equipment, can be followed two different  approaches: 

1st approach:

Step 2: Students play with the interactive presentations, divided into groups and assigning a representative to answer during the game ,  following teacher's instructions and after that, through a brainstorming, they explain , the new  grammatical terms.
Step 3: Brainstorming about other using that kind of presentation at other curicullum subjects and feedback of the activity.
 
2nd approach:
 
Step 2: The teacher presents new grammatical terms and subsequently students, divided into groups and assigning a representative to answer during the game ,  following teacher's instructions, play with  the interactive presentations to consolidate the new concepts.
Step 3: Brainstorming about other using that kind of presentation at other curicullum subjects and feedback of the activity.
Evaluation
Students
  • Self evaluation : Self involve in the answers, in the team, in the game.

  • Team evaluation : Succesfull collaboration of not ,right answers, winning games.

​Teacher
  • Α multiple choice test to determine the degree of understanding of new concepts.

  • The willingness of students to create similar presentations.
