Sort Description
In this unit pupils have to read 2 poems about birds. The first one is about a lark and the second about two owls. Whilst they read, they record their own voice in order to edit and enrich that records with background sounds later.
This is an individual activity to improve reading skills .
This activity aims at developing linguistic/verbal and musical intelligences but developed and many of the other types of intelligence, such as:

Interpersonal intelligence: good with communication

Intrapersonal intelligence: good with analyzing things
Pupils read and record their own voice while reading poetry
Activity 2
Tools and programs:
A PC with microphone, the windows recording program instaled and a freeware sound editing program.
Duration: 2 - 4 hours
1 hour for the conceptual analysis of the two poems 1 hour for the recordings with the PC and up to two ( maybe more ) hours for the poems digital editing.
Targets
For Students to:

Hear their own voice and improve their reading ability.

Learn how to use in an imaginary way the preinstaled windows recording program.

Get familiar with sound editing programs.

For teacher to:

Help students to understand difficult consepts with the use of ICT.

Development pathway
Step 1: Conceptual analysis of the two poems.
Step 2: Demonstration of the preinstalled windows recording program.
Step 3: Each student read the first poem about lark and record his/her own voice.
Step 4: Each student read the second poem about the two owls and record his/her own voice.
Step 5: Brainstorming about the use of the windows reconrding in others of the curriculum subjects, and for the feedback listening to recordings and discussion about their satisfactory performance.
Step 6: Remastered recordings and add background sounds with a freeware program like Audacity or any similar program.
