Sort Description
On the occasion of an exercise of the Modern Greek language course where students have to create a fantastic story with Pinocchio, they're asked to paint and convert it into comic. After that a PowerPoint presentation was created which was uploaded to skydrive so that it can be integrated (taking advantage of the relative option offered) on the website of the class. In addition a digital booklet was created with the help of a relative free website (in this case the issuu ).
This an individual work activity on creative writing.

This activity aims at developing linguistic/verbal and spatial intelligences but developed and many of the other types of intelligence, such as:

Interpersonal intelligence: good with communication

Intrapersonal intelligence: good with analyzing things

Logical intelligence: good with math and logic
Pupils create comics and produce a digital booklet
Activity 3
Tools and programs:
MS Word, MS PowerPoint, an account for Skydrive, a site to create the digital booklet like issuu ( depending on approach to create the comic: windows paint, bing image search etc.) a PC and a projector (or a smartboard if there is any) .
Duration: 6 - 9 hours
About 2 hours for the story writing and to give related to comics instructions, from 1 to 3 hours for the comics creation (this phase can be done with windows paint or in a powerpoint presentation with images to be found by searching Bing images ), 1 hour to be "scanned" the painted pages, approximately 10'-20 'minutes to create the powerpoint presentation and 1 hour to read the stories in the classroom and the necessary feedback.
Targets
For Students to:

improve in written expression and creative writing using their imagination.

Become authors and to reconstruct a familiar tale according to their preferences by taking part in the plot and actively participating in its development..

Learn some of the basic steps of comic creation.

To come into contact with tools of WEB 2.0 (Skydrive, Issuu) their creative use and the offered capabilities by them.
For teacher to:

Help students develop their personal written expression.

Help students explore their artistic skills.

Create conditions of voluntary commitment for students in the class activities.

Teach students to shorten a long story and to transform her to comics.
Development pathway
Step 1: We read and discuss the relative exercise of the book of language making assumptions about the way that the story can go further, and giving time to pupils so as to write their stories..
Step 2: With the projector help some comics are displayed and explain how the illustration can be done (close frames - emotions, medium frame - descriptions, large frame - action) We give students the premade A4 paper with frames for the comic (the cards are very easy to microsoft word).
Step 3: We ask our students to adapt the prepared story so that they can paint her in the given worksheet with the comics frames.
Step 4: Allow some time for students to draw their story in their own home (the task given as homework).
Step 5: When students finish with the illustration, the comics worksheets scanned and the images are imported into powerpoint so as to make the presentation which has to be uploaded to skydrive so that we can incorporate in our website and to Issuu so as to create our digital booklet.
Step 6: Brainstorming about other uses of the used for the activity programs and for the necessary feedback all comics are red in the classroom with the projector help and are commented by students for both the illustrations and the text of the story.

Self evaluation : Self commitment, personal effort, artistic results and self evaluation of their own comics .

Peer evaluation: Evaluation of their classmates' comics, the artistic results and the plot of the story.
